Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Cleanup. Check all the boxes and click OK. 4. Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Defragmenter, and Defragment Now. 5. Go to Start, type msconfig and enter. Go to the Startup tab and uncheck unneeded startup. 6. Run a virus scan on your computer. Viruses eat up a lot of memory and could cause your computer to crash. I use Norton. Yeah I know Norton slows down your computer to hell, but I have a pretty fast notebook. 7. Run a spyware scan on your computer. Spyware eat up a lot of memory and steal your personal stuff.
